NATIONAL WIDGET COMPANY REHIRES AFTER LAY-OFFS
Fifty employees are to be rehired in Victoria after having been laid off by Canada’s oldest widget
company in December. Two hundred employees will be rehired across the country. Employees will
be brought back to work over the next few weeks, and The National Widget Company will be back
at full capacity within six weeks.
A steady increase in sales has occurred over the last few months. Company President Andrew Bryce
says “The increase in sales has been unprecedented. We think this opportunity opens up enormous
markets which will last for years.”
New markets have opened up in China, where they are asking for widgets to be installed in every
